Kieran earns Commonwealth selection
Kieran O'Hara is one of the 20-striong Team England para-Athletics squad selected for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this summer. Kieran will be going for gold in the T20 1500m final on Monday 27th July. Well done Kieran and coach Pat Gahagan, and support team. --> NEWS RELEASE

YDL U18/U20s third at opener
Havering’s YDL Under 18 and Under 20 squad got their season off to a solid start on home territory as they finished third at Hornchurch Stadium on Sunday. The strong Under 18 squads competed well but lack of Under 20s affected the overall position. Meanwhile Stateside Ruby Tillson set big new heptathlon PB of 5442 points, an over 300 point improvement at the NE Challenge in Storrs, Connecticut. --> REPORT

Passing of Doug Tierney (1941-2026)
We are sad to report the passing of our former Chairman Doug Tierney at the age of 85. Doug was club Chairman for 14 years in two spells during the period 2000 and 2016. He was instrumental in attracting grants which resulted in the replacement of the track and stadium facilities in 2004. Our sincere condolences to his widow Jean, and sons Phil and Andy and other family members.--> REPORT

Five compete at English Schools XC
Five club athletes represented the Essex Schools team at the English Schools Championships at the Sefton Park Liverpool course in sunny conditions on Saturday. Freddie Rowe led home the Essex seniors in 15th and Orla Friel was one of the scoring Inter girls who were runners up. -->
